Not to mention that no one hires DBOs, they hire Junior DBAs (sometimes)!!

    There's my 2 cents.
Well, it might be a surprise to you but I know an OCP DBO who is the main DBA at a rather big company (the term Senior DBA does not exist there).

And I wouldn't trust very much what a Director of the OCP Program at Oracle would say. There are things thyey can say and things that they cannot say.

hey at least you get that logo for free. Where are you based John ?

I wouldn't drive any conclusions from that fact, it can just be some kind of peculiarity from your neighbourhood . I', for example know about dozen of OCPs (in person), and only one of them is DBO, all others are DBAs or developers.

Moreover, concluding from the postings in this forum I would say the former director of the OCP Program at Oracle was telling the truth about OCP DBO certification not performing well. I'd say less than 1 of a 20 candidates for OCP in this forum is preparing for OCP DBO exam, the vast majority is aiming for DBA track.

You get out of it, what you put in. That's it, clear and simple.

    Bloody Hell Julian!

I made mine up. Is that for real?

They are obviously using the shopping list approach. List every skill in the department and hope someone has a subset of them.

I think I can spell all of them. Does that count?
