I have a Hash Partitioned table accross 8 tablespaces on different drives.
    When do a
    select * from where rownum < 100

    it takes 4 Secs.
To cross check i created another NOnPartitioned table with a Select from the above Hash_Part_Table.

and fired the same select querry and got the resultset withing 0 MSecs.

**PleaseNote : Both Tables are without any Parallel Degree specifications, and the test is being done at Idle time.

Does any body help me to understand why this happened.

    Thanx in Adv

You would have to do a trace with it, but I would bet the query against the partitioned table is pulling more blocks back from disk than the normal table.
