    Cleared 1z0-040 - 10g New Features

Took the exam today, it was just like 1z0-030 (New Features 9i): a lot of straight questions, just a few exhibits and a total lack of "real-life" questions. A lot of things to memorize, like new processes roles, API's syntax and some concepts. Scored 51/61 (from a total of 66 questions - 5 were not scored), not an outstanding score but more than enough to pass (minimum score was 37, about 57%).

It seems Oracle wants OCP9i to upgrade real soon. I'll have to admit, Microsoft exams on 2003 track are much harder actually.

2 weeks of studying. My references were, recalling another thread:

    1) Oracle Coach notes (pretty straight and focused on exam objectives; however, quite superficial reading):
    http://www.oraclecoach.com/oracle10g.htm

    2) OTN Notes from Arup Nanda (don't cover all the exams objective, since it's not focused on OCP but on Oracle itself; however, there are plenty of examples and practical demonstrations of the new features):

    http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub...dba/index.html

    3) Tim Hall's Notes on Oracle-Base (as useful as OTN articles):
    http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/10g/Articles10g.php

    4) Oracle Documentation Library as further reading (official documentation, excellent as reference and in-depth research):
    http://www.oracle.com/pls/db10g/port...mo3?selected=1

    5) Oracle 10g New Features by Oracle Press (not focused on OCP and, at the same time, not complete as the OTN, Tim and Oracle documentation; useful as a "first reading", no more than that):
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...books&n=507846

    6) Obviously, a test environment

    7) I also found another site with information on 10g new features but didn't have the time to check:
    http://www.iselfschooling.com/iss4ora10g.htm

At the current time, there is no STS available for 1z0-040 exam. I didn't see any practical questions. But, trust me, they're really not neeeded.

    Well done.

But you haven't updated your signature which is surely the only reason for doing it

Sorry if it is a particular issue, but... where did you got your OCP tatoo?

The docs are not empty, they are all still there and their content is still the same. If I click on them I get the expected pdf contents.
