    Hi All,
    I have encountered the above problem and I am not sure I have a proper backup. Is there anything else I can do to get my controlfiles and logfiles back in sync?

    this means you haven't backed up your control, redo and data files at the same time, no ??

    Just see if you can execute the following command

    alter database backup controlfile to trace;

    or just start the database in no mount stage and re-create the control file..
