I am running SAP R/3 on Oracle 8i on NT.

Now when I am taking online backup using SAPDBA (which SAP says) I have to change the tapes manually. Eventhough I can put as many as 10 tapes in the slots.

Now I want to automate this. Someone told me that SAPDBA doesn't allow this.

    Can anyone guide me.

    Hi,

Check your initSID.sap for the backup_device_type parameter. If you have a autoloader then this should be set to tape_auto. Then the brbackup/bracrchive will issue the necessary commands to unload the completed tape and load new one.
