    Hi,
    I just installed Oracle 8i on a win2000 pc, if I want to connect to the database from another pc do I have to do anything special with the win2000 pc??

    If you are connected to the network and have a valid IP address and subnet mask you should be fine.

    Replicate the tnsnames.ora entry for your database in your ORACLE_HOME\network\admin to the 'other' machine and you'll be fine.

    Don't forget to config and startup Oracle listener on that win2000 pc.
