    Hi,

I am in the process of creating 8i database. I would like to know how to estimate sizing information (storage parameters) for the tables. I have a test database where i have all the tables, but with very less number of records when compared to the actuals. I have the estimated number of rows which will be over a period of time too.

Anybody please tell me how to estimate the sizing?

    It is URGENT.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards.

    Sundar

    Analyze your test database schema.

You can get average rowlength of each table. Multiply this with your estimate of number of rows which will be inserted over a peiod of time. This will give you rawsize.

Now factor in additional space depending on your PCTFREE parameter and the kind of tablespaces you will use, DM or LMT's.

    Hope this helps.

Instead of asking every one's mail id, why don't you put your mail id on the screen, because most of the people will be interested and who ever they want they will initiate and send a mail to you to which you can reply easily.

    Thanks and don't mind.
