    Basically, you use orapwd utility to create the password file. Refer to Oracle documentation for more information.

    Please note that you either have to delete or rename the old password file before you can recreate the new one. The old password file located at database\pwd(sidname).ora

    Also note that Server Manager is no longer supported in 9i.

    yes, 9i no longer support SVRMGRL

    You can only use sqlplus in 9i. svrmgrl is now history.
