I have two Oracle Home 816 and 817 running on the new machine. my question is which password will Oracle use after I migrate the database 817, I am sure it will use the password file on 817 home and ignore the 816 password file. For some reason, I use the new password which I created in the new password file and it's still UNsufficient.

It's weird, the worst case I will do is I will delete the service and recreate the new service

anyone has the same problem ???

Normally once after you upgrade, the password file under $ORACLE_HOME/dbs is the one that would get used. It is not necessary to recreate the password file if you are upgrading through the oracle data migration assistant.

    Sam,

Thanks for your response, I am aware that ORacle will create the pwd file, but in my case it's really weird , the password is incorrect and I recreated with the new password and it's still not correct, I will look some more and if it's still has problem, I will delete the services and recreate it.

    Thanks
