    Unhappy

    I am running Oracle 8.1.7

I created one database one month back, its running successfully until today.

3 days back my collegue created another database for different apllication.

Till today morning there is no problem with the two databases. But today morning there is a problem with First Database. Second database is working fine. But When I am trying to start First Datase its checking for the Second Database's Password file and its giving error message this is not a valid password file. Even my first database's password file is existing in the same folder but it not checking the password file of First Database.

How do I up the First Database?

You need to recreate the password file. It seems like your password file is corrupted.

Before creating the new pasword file, be sure you delete or rename the old password file. Using orapwd to create the new password file and you should be ok
