Thread: Is a 'log switch' needed ?

    When the arch dest is filled up, and I make some more room on that file system, will Oracle repeadly try to use that space once it is freed or will I have to do a 'log switch' to jump start the database ?

    You just have to free space and that is it. You do not need to do log switch.
