Sure, it's great for Oracle and Prometric.

Each and every OCP candidate and Hiring Manager will have to make up their own mind about how much "value" the OCP brings to the organization.

If all the tests go online then I think it will devalue the certification process.

My guess is this will be an experiment. If the pass rate goes up drastically you may see the online exam being removed.

I suppose you could always get someone else to sit the exam at the prometric centre if you really wanted to anyway! I know you need ID but according to the TV it isn't a problem to get fakes these days.

I must pass the Oracle Certified Master track. At least then you'll need fake ID and £3000 to spend on training

    Angry

Is Oracle making it easier to get a OCA and then the OCP?

I think they are trying to divide up the certification levels so that if you want to be known as on Oracle Expert you have to go to the OCM level.

What's the "pass a hands-on practice-based examination in an Oracle lab environment"?

How is that going to work?

    True.

They have not yet decided on that.

You probably have to show you can use the forums at http://www.dbasupport.com to solve any Oracle problem

By the way, I'm now a member! (crowd goes wild....)

I'm thinking of answering "Yes, I agree!" to every strand so I can be promoted to Oracle Messiah by the end of the week
