    i've WinMe ..
i ve installed oracle products in the above order.

Oracle Personal 7.3 using Dev6i installer (as its newer version).

on trying to connect to oracle 7 Db using Dev6i tools like "Form Builder" or "Schema Builder" i am promted to enter a username and password,,i use the famous "scott" and "tiger" then click on connect then i get an error message..
Oracle73 has caused an error in NTPNT.DLL
    Oracle73 will now colse"

    followed by those 2 errors:
    "OBE-15387: Login failed
    ORA-12571: TNSacket writer failure"

i know it works fine under Win98 SE..
i still dont know what is the problem ..
    i am stuck..
    should uninstall winME..? (

i did try using Dev2000,Des2000,& Personal 7.3 but i failed to install the 3 of them in the same home.
i could connect to DB with no errors using only oracle SQL+3.3 (installed with Personal 7.3) ..

    You have TNS problems.

The current version of Designer requires a separate Oracle Home for Designer. That is, separate from any installation of the Oracle database.

If you search on tnsnames.ora using the Windows Find option, you will have more than one file. They need to be the same everywhere or you may have connection problems.

    Good luck.
