Thread: Oracle 8.1.7 on Windows 2000

    Angry

I'm trying to install Oracle 8.1.7 EE on Windows 2000 with service pack 2. Once I ran SETUP.EXE, the GUI window doesn't show up and doesn't return anything.

What's wrong or anyone has met the same problem?

    Thanks.

Red face Oracle 8.1.7 on Windows 2000

    Yes, I'm using Pentium 4.
But I can find the related patch.
Do you have the web link of the patch, if you don't mind?
    Thanks.

Look at the document (ID: 131299.1) on Metalink.

Another quick work around is to copy the install CD to a new folder on one of your hard drives. After you have done that, search for symcjit.dll and rename any copies that it finds. I renamed them symcjit-old.dll. Then double click on the setup file in directory ...install/win32 (under the new Oracle folder).

This worked for me and was very quick.
