Thread: client on Unix

    Hi,
    I was asked to install the Oracle application user client on Sun/solaris. Do I have to create an Oracle user owner of the client files or may I install the software under a normal user ?

    a normal behaviour when installing oracle under unix is :
    1) create dba group
    2) create oracle user belonging to dba group
    3) install client as oracle

    What about coping the sqlnet.ora? Is that neccesary?
