Hi,
I have got recently a new big hard disk.
I want your openion on its usage.
Should I use it to generate online Archive log files
or
Should I move some hot tablespace/datafiles on it?
Which would give more performance boost?
Thanks,
Sam

Depends, where's your I/O hot spots? Move whatever is on the most busy disk to the new disk.

Factors like how you configure the disk(s), what is your OS, what kind of disk it is are also important.

Right now, Hot spots are in old disk where all the tablespaces and datafiles are on a single logical volume.
New hard disk has different logical volume.
So, you mean, moving hot files is a better selection than changing archive log file destination?
Thanks,
Sam

Splitting your hot files between two disks is better than moving your log_archive_dest, IMHO of course.
