Sure we offer him our support through his OCP and now when we need him he is "busy". This is very upsetting, where is my prozac? :(

    Hi Wannabe.

Congrats on landing a position in this current economic climate.

    What exactly are you doing?
How many databases are you in charge of/involved with ?
    What size db's ?
    What versions ?
What platforms, if Unix how much shell scripting/admin do you need to know ?
Do you use Parallel server, connection manager, MTS, Onames technology.

Just interested to know the kind of skill set required for a $95,000 job. Starters with no exp. in UK can't expect more than £20,000 - £25,000

    Hi Pando

You could command from £35k - £45k dependant upon experience.
Obviously contract will be more. Although you will be subject to UK IR35 tax code, which means that you will be taxed the same percentage as a permanent employee

If you go to http://www.jobserve.co.uk and search 'oracle dba', you will get a list of about 600 positions currently available in UK, with varying salaries and skill set requirements.
