    hi guys

    I am not in to oracle dba , but i have assignment to do

    I have to install oracle 8.1.7 on Linux 7.1.

    Can any one of u pass me the web site link Link where i can get the installation notes and procedure as to how to intall and configure the database in linux .

    Is Oracle 8i (8.1.7 ) compatible with Linux 7.2 O/S ?

    hello

    I dont think so that oracle8.1.7 is certifed for Redhatlinux7.2
    .You can try reddhat6.2 which is certified if that is what you meant by compatibility.

    I've used the instructions at this site for 817 on 7.1 and 901 on 7.2.

    They worked great!
