Install on Solaris(Staging area?)

Hi gurus,
I have the solaris install files on my /tmp directory,
I have not yet run the install.
Should I create a special directory(staging area) for this or should I run it from /tmp?

As long as you have adequate swap space, you can run them from /tmp. However, remember that once your box reboots (if you need to change kernal params or something else), everything in /tmp will go away.
