My oralce8i was working property on my windows 2000 server. I reinstalled 2000 and made it to be Domain Server. Then I installed Oracle8i again. But it couldn't work this time. The Oracle Management Server could not start.
The oms.mohup in the SYSMAN folder shows:
[main][2001-11-28:23:50:32:888] VdbSession.processError: errorMsg >ORA-12640:
<
[main][2001-11-28:23:50:32:888] VdbSession.processError: database connection error
VXA-2018 :
Can not connect to then OMS Registered Server
oracle.sysman.vxn.VxnBootstrapException:

at oracle.sysman.vxa.VxaAppServer.main(VxaAppServer.java:2547)
failed to start Oracle Management Server.
How can I deal with it? Thanks in advanced.
P.S. I created a new repository, then I tried to connect it, but it said that it could not connect the database. ???

try to modify the repository connection information
using edit configuration parameters in Enterprise manager configuration Assistant.
then drop the existing repository and create new repository
as this worked for me .

respostory
right after I just finished the installation of Oracle on my computer, windows 2000 Advanced Server, I could create a new repostory, but now, I trid to create or delete. A dialog would show:
ORA-01034: Oracle not available
ORA-27101: Shared memory realm does not exist
????? Do I have to reinstall Oracle or there is another way to fix it?
Thanks in advanced

try shutting down and restarting DB
Can you go into server manager or DBA Studio and shutdown your database and restart it? If it says it is not started, then start it. It should come up then. Make sure the OMS service is started on the Services panel before you try to log on to OMS. I have had similar problems and this procedure helped.

Now, I could not delete or create repository, database and I could not even start the database. Please check the Topic "ORA-01034/ORA-10127"
Thank you for your consideration!

try to connect as internal
and give option force for starting the database
-
Still have error to connect as internal. :(
-
what is the error exactly.
-
Could you post the error from the alert_log file.

Thank you for consideration first.
Oracle is new for me. Where to find the alert_log file?
I found Alert_odg.log, but it is empty.
I found this in nmi.log file:
***********************************************************************
Fatal NI connect error 12640, connecting to:
