    Unhappy

The oracle database is 8.0.5 on an NT platform and continues to get the following error:

ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-01115: IO error reading block from file 1 (block # 127)
    ORA-01110: data file 1: 'D:\ORANT\DATABASE\SYS1ORCL.ORA'
    ORA-27070: skgfdisp: async read/write failed
OSD-04006: ReadFile() failure, unable to read from file
O/S-Error: (OS 33) The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file.

This error comes up after the server (and database) crashes. I do not receive this when I shutdown cleanly. Do I need to worry about recovering the datafile mentioned or is this another issue?

When do you get to see these errors? Does it occour during backup? This could be also occour if your Virus scanner was scanning and had placed a lock on your database file. When it were to crash next time, run the "tlist" which would list what was locking and causing the problem. Also another primary place to look at is your trace file.
