    Hi,

we have oracle 7.3 on win nt. I want to store the existing database on to other nt system, some times when we have problem with the original system. I am taking backup and importing the same into the other system, before that I am are droping all the tables. Is that correct procedure. What actually is to be done at this times. Which files have to be copied do some changes. Which is the best and the easiest way.

Please make yourself clear as to what you want to do.

Do you want a standby system so that when your primary fails, you can revert to the standby or do you just want a proper backup procedure?
