    Oracle People:

I've got some great scripts that show the users and their sessions, which prompts(and shows) SID/SESSION ID and allows you to kill them off.

Thats great- but now I've got a new problem. I've got a web based connection that seems to leave old inactive connections.

Is there some kind of "timeout" setting that automatically kills sessions that have been inactive for a certain period ? Or is there some way to periodically remove them ?

    Thanks again,

    Roger

You can use PROFILES, you can set all sorts of resource limits; there is an IDLE_TIME parameter. Look at the doc. for more detail.

IDLE_TIME: Specify the permitted periods of continuous inactive time during a session, expressed in minutes. Long-running queries and other operations are not subject to this limit.
