I have a friend who called Miss Cleo and she was informed that Oracle 9i certification will be retiring Dember 31st, 2002
Sorry guys, slow day at work and I figured I would be the second one on the band wagon to retire it. (I think Tim Hall did it in an earlier post).
Y'all have a great weekend.

Oracle´s redefined pricing terms may make the issue unimportant.
In my opinion, Oracle doesn´t treat its shareholders very well. Accounting problems in 1991 and a **** happens attitude from Ellison back in 1997 when they missed their estimates. Raymond Lane gave the company more credibility with Wall Street, but he isn´t there any longer.
I wouldn´t mind getting some experience with DB2 or SQL Server in case Oracle takes the same path as Informix. Oracle is entrenched, but you never know what the future holds.
Have a good weekend.

I recently joined the Oracle ranks coming from a SQL Server background going back 10 years (I was originally a MS Product specialist with SQL Server).
I am thinking after 9i certification of switching back and getting the SQL Server certification just to keep my feet firmly in both camps.

This retirement hullaballa sucks!
Look at bill gates ,every year he's coming up with new versions every year. I mean you're confusing the hell out of a consumer!!!
If you stop selling you better retire your own ass as well!!!
