how do I find out what protocol I'm using?
-
If you want to see what protocol an alias is using you can look at $ORACLE_HOME\Network\Admin\TnsNames.ora or just do a TNSPING TNSALIAS
-
Question is vague, but I'll attempt an answer:
1) Run Oracle Installer it'll tell you what protocols are installed
2) In UNIX check $ORACLE_HOME/orainstall/unix.rgs
or the install log.
3) Novell : Modules at prompt or PISNTALL.NLM
4) WINx run NetConfig it'll know..

AT unix prompt fire:
$>adapters
check listener.ora
I think same command should exist on windows.
