    Hi all!

Working on Oracle v8i 8.1.6.0.0 with OS as NT.

    Query:

1.What is a TOAD Tool! Does it realy help to analyze tables or indexes!

2.What is the functionality of DATAGATHERER in Oracle!

2.I keep on getting this error mesg:

    Eventlog Service:

The Application log file is full.

    3.Consider the following scenario:

When I started from the NT Services Dialog box:

    OracleOracle8imanagementserver

    Oracle gave this error:

"COULD NOT START ORACLEORACLE8IMANAGEMENTSERVER SERVICE ON \\ BIAC-04".

"ERROR:0203; THE SYSTEM COULD NOT FIND THE ENVIRONMENT OPTION THAT WAS ENTERED".

Now what is this Environment option here!Where do I have to set it!

Any idea what could have gone wrong.

What should be done to resolve the above error.

3.Under what scenarios, could we delete views.

    Thanks&Regards,

    Amit.

I think TOAD is excellent and it can help you with NUMEROUS DBA tasks and greatly simplifies a DBA's role.

You should know how to do everything you can do in TOAD without TOAD though, just in case.

Or you could actually reward the people who developed the tool and buy a copy if you use it.

Yes, I agree that you should buy the software you actually use and find useful... but I think TOAD is pretty expensive if you have to pay for it out of your own pocket.

So for now, I grit my teeth and painfully learn how to do things manually! (Yep, I'm a "rookie" )
