Thread: Binary Compatibility?

    We have Oracle 8 (32bit) running on AIX 4.3.3 RS/6000 64bit Hardware. Now, I wish to move the database to another RS/6000 server which is 32bit Hardware also with AIX 4.3.3. Will this work?

    As long as you use the 32bit oracle software it all should work. If you want to move from 32bit to 64bit, there are some scripts that needs to be run to recompile the plsql applications and others to the 64bit.
