Hi,
Running 8.1.7 on Solaris 2.8. I did a restore of my prod DB to Test. I had mentioned the recovery time as 5:00am but the last backup was of 4:am and did not contain any archive logs needed for recovery. In this scenario, after the restore - it tried to recover and obviously gave an error when it could not find the logs needed to recover until 5 am.
Since the developers neeed the db urgently , i din't have time to do an R&D on that. did another restore with the proper time.
Can I
1. Issue a recovery statement again stating 'recover database until cancel using backup controlfile
or
2. issue a recovery stating recover database until '04:00:00' using backup controlfile;
Anyone who has experienced this kinda problem ?

I think that you need to restore the files again from backup and startup the recovery process, setting the recovery option to new time
