Thread: Block Corruption

    Dear all,
    Block corruption seems that very common in Unix base. Any comments on this?
    Anyone can share the experiences on how to resolve this problem easily with minimal data loss ?

    I've been very lucky in this department so far (touch wood)... I only instance of block curruption I have was importing into a database on a Solaris 2.6 Oracle 8.0.5 with datafiles > 2gb. If you are woking under this configuration, don't have datafiles greater than 2 GB.
