    Can a table be dropped from READ ONLY tablespace.

    Answer this from two point, being DBA can I drop one?
    As a generic user, but owning the table, Can I drop?

    sure, you can drop objects from a read only tablespace, exactly as you can drop objects from an offline tablespace. nevertheless you can neither create nor alter an object ...

    If a read only tablespace can be stored on a CD ROM, how could you drop objects?

    Or can you only do this if the CD ROM is a burnable cd in a re-writer?.

    Oracle just makes a change to data dictionary.

    It does matter matter if a CD is re-writable or not because if tablespace is in Read Only mode it means it is not Writable.

    no, no CD-RW or anything like that, just that the data dictionnary cannot be in a read only tablespace, so you can drop an object from a read only tablespace, it won't change anything in the datafiles of your tablespace, but the data dictionnary will be updated ...
