    Hi All,

I need some detail advise before I do defragmentation using exp/imp

    1. coldbackup first
    2. export all object in tablespace
    3. drop tablespace
    4. import data back with compress = Y

Could anyone give some details about step3 ->recreate tablespace-> step4

    Did I miss any steps?

I don't have any free space for my TABLE tablespace now. Before defragmentation, do I need add 1 more datafile?

Please advise. This is kind of urgent.

while exporting you are to use compress = y.
drop the tablespace and precreate with modified the default storage parameters for the datafile.
do not forget to name the tablespace just like the old.
