I tried to install Oracle 8.1.7.0.1 on Linux 7.0 and it was successful.
But when I applied the required patch "glibc-2.1.3-stubs", there was no error message but it didn't re-generate "oracle" executable, only renamed it to "oracleO". This caused me to get the error message:
"ORA-12545 Connect failed because target host or object does not exist"
when I run "svrmgrl".
Hope someone could help.
Thnaks.
