    Hello:
If you have 10 RBS in total and you have all 10 RBS assigned to 10 transactions which are not ended yet, and if a 11th transaction is started what happens? Does it mean that if you have 10 RBS, you can only run 10 transactions at a time??

An update or an insert starts a transaction right??

    Thanks, ST

transactions are just spread almost equally between all RBS ... if you look at XACTS in V$ROLLSTAT, you'll see how many transactions are assigned to each rollback segment ...

A delete also requires rollback, not to mention DD changes requiring rollback space eg create/alter DB objects.

Even in INSERT required a RBS.
