Thread: Searching latest patches

    Hi all,

    I have to install a production NT server with Oracle 8.1.7 and all latest patches. For the moment I installed Oracle 8.1.7 on my notebook to see what it looks like (I usually work on Unix).

    But I cannot find the exact url where I can download the latest patches for Oracle 8.1.7.* on NT. I searched http://www.oracle.com, http://www.oracle.com/fr, metalink.oracle.com, technet.oracle.com, otn.oracle.com... The websites isn't very clear with that...

    Where do you download your upgrade patches ?

    PS : I have downloaded patches on another non-Oracle site, but I get 2 kinds of patches : those wo install with Universal Installer and show their version in Oracle, and those where they just say, stop everything, copy file XX to ORACLE_HOME\bin\XX and restart.. Is it normal ? I'm searching for the OFFICIAL patches !!
