    Hi,

i would like to make a survey on what DBA exam you think is the most difficult.
    a. SQL/PLSQL
    b. Architecture & Admin
    c. Performance Tuning
    d. Backup & Recovery
    e. Net Admin

BTW, i encountered a question last week on my 023 exam that i'm not quite sure of my answer. I posted the question on another thread

I have written A, B and D thus far and out of them I would say B (A&A) was the most difficult.

I would say it would differ from person to person because:

    a) The quantity & quality of study material you have on each exam.

    b) Your prior exposure.

    c) The amount of hard work put in.

In my case, I found the Net Admin most difficult,
primarily because of certain entirely new concepts and also because of the limited material on my disposal. Still I could pass it comfortably though.

    Talking

I have already passed 4 of the 5 exams , Administration is definetly the hardest because it covers many many points compared to any other exam.

But after all there is no easy exam here , Oracle is ranked is the most hard exams after Cisco and it is the most valued certification concerning software ( Cisco mainly concentrate on hardware and networking ) ,, it is all about study and it is very common to pass the exam with one or 2 questions over the needed limit.

    Wishing you all the best

I was thinking about this last night when I was studing for my last exam, B&R, and I'd have to agree with hnagia, Julian and co. when it comes to the most difficult. That being Architecture and Admin. Simple becaus it covers such a broad range of topics. It's a combination of all exams into one.

    Ranking, for Oracle8i exams completed.

    a. Architecture & Admin
    b. SQL/PLSQL
    c. Net Admin
    d. Performance Tuning

Depends on what you do most at work, where you feel most confortable. I got all points - 1 or 2 from the RMAN questions and they are almost 1/3 of of B&R. If you have never used RMAN, then B&R is not that easy.

    Julian,

What materials did you use to study for B&R?
