    Hi,
I have created a workbook using the oracle discoverer 3.1. Now ,I have saved the file in the .dis format.

    The question is,

    1) Should this .dis file be compiled ?

    2) What will be the executable file?

    3) How do I call this particular discoverer file from forms ?

    Hi badrinathn,

AFAIK .dis file doesn't need to be compiled. You can send
it to user by email and they can open it as long as they
have Discoverer(User edition). I don't know how to include
    Discoverer Workbook in Forms.

    Hi,

    Thanks for that.
Secondly, I am just using some views on the actual tables for creating the business areas. Can you use the actual (oltp) tables for the discover purpose.

Or Do you have to create a different schema and use the batch programs to load the data into that schema and create a business area from that schema.

You don't have to create view for workbooks. You can use
table in your Discoverer workbook. Data will be refreshed
    each time you load tables.
