Thread: Migrate from NT to Linux

    I have got a database on WinNT(Oracle 8.0.x). I want my database to be migrated to Linux(Oracle 8.1.6). I have done exp80 on WinNT and created a dump file . After that I have used imp on Linux(Oracle 8i(8.1.6)). It is saying that import is successful but I am not getting any tables. What can be the reason ? What steps I have to follow ?

    Are there any messages in the logfile?
    If you do an imprt with SHOW=Y are the tables in the list of what it will import. If not then the tables are not in the dump file. If yes then check if there are any errors in the import log. If not then check that the tables havent been imported under a different schema or something daft like that.
