    Hi,
Im trying to install Oracle 8.0.6 on an AIX 4.3 box and get this error during the install:

ld: 0711-998 SEVERE ERROR: Unexpected exception 10 caught. x x
    x x I/O error x x
x xmake: The error code from the last command is 12.

    Has anyone seen this before??

I suspect that I don't have all the AIX patches required for Oracle 8.0.6 (e.g IX87313, etc) . Is there any ways that I can check if I have all these patches??

    Thanks

They listed all the required patches for AIX box but I don't know how to verify that all the patches are installed. Do you know how??

I can generally check the patches by issuing at the command line.

    $instfix -ivk IY02407

for example: It should say if they are installed or not.

    Thanks

    Here is the message:

Relinking Error. The executables for Oracle8 Enterprise (RDBMS) were not made successfully.

Do I need a C compiler from IBM ...I checked my Unix box and I noticed that both bos.adt.base and bos.adt.libm were installed on that machine?

    THanks
