Hi friends.
I have recently done a dbassist install and have noticed that a drsys tablespace exists, this was not there the first time I created a database using dbassist.
There seems to be system objects in it.
Does anyone know what this tablespace holds, whether I need it ?
Thanks

The DRSYS tablespace contains the context/intermedia text/oracle text objects (under CTXSYS user) (names differ depending on the version of oracle you are using ).
If you intend to use Intermedia Text/Oracle Text then keep it otherwise you should be able to live without it.

Hi Amar..
Can I do a drop user ctxsys /cascade without any repurcussions.
I will not be using intermedia/oracle text.
Thanks

Think so.......
Take a look at $ORACLE_HOME/ctx/admin/dr0drop.sql - it drops all objects under the CTXSYS user and is the preferred way of removing intermedia/oracle text.
