    Hello

    I have a DB on Oracle817 , IBM RS6000 OS Aix 4.3 and would like to backup the same on Legato using RMAN
    . What is the version of Legato should I have installed to backup the same .

    Any forum / site on Legato which would help would also be welcome .

    There is a stipped-down version of Legato Storage Manager that comes with Oracle 8i. Check out http://technet.oracle.com/docs/produ...a77218/toc.htm for details.

    Hello

    Thanks Jeff.
    I have version 5.1.0.4 installed and working for a Oracle 7.3 DB with EBU . Can I use the same version for Oracle8i for RMAN unfortunately no document seems to say anything about the same . Any help on this .

    Any Help would be appreciated

    If that version comes with a libobk file, you probably can. I would check with legato, though. http://www.legato.com/support/casemanagement/

    It is my understanding that the LSM with Oracle 8i is indeed "stripped down".

    If you wish to do a tape backup to an Automated Tape Library, you cannot do it with this version of LSM.
