    Hi,

On Windows NT platform how find whether listener and database are up and running. On Unix the same can be found by issuing "ps -ef | grep oracle".I don't want to check the services to do the same.
Also I would like know the better scripting language on WindowsNT/Windows2000 to automate various monitoring scripts.

    Thanks in advance.

Check your services under contol panel. Then to set up monitoring, you can use the OEM.
