Sorry, could not resist, seeing the pattern of your questions: "What is the difference between releaseX and releaseY?"....

    Hi there,
Its been a while since I touched forms 5 but I will have a think. For a start, dont forget thet Forms 5 was desupported even before 4.5 was - latest version is 6i.

***Things in 5 that werent in 4.5***
    ******************************
Object libraries - replacement for property callesses and visual attributes...Big Change
PLSQL V2 - Big change, believe me!
Project builder tool added in. This was crap and dropped in 6...
A few more built ins but not very much really.
    Tabbed Canvases
    Interface is all wizard driven
    'Frames' to allow automatic layout.
Object groups can now include PLSQL procedures.
    Record groups can be global.
Single document interface as well as MDI
Popup menus on right click(Might be a 6 thing)
    Property canvas is better.

***Things in 6 that werent in 5***
    ******************************
    New 'classes' (read built-ins) to allow programme of ;
    -Picklists,
    -Navigators (like in the designer)
    -Wizards
    Coloured PLSQL editor
Can have java beans in the form,
Prompts are properties of the items.
Can 'Run for on Web' fro canvas viewer.

-loads of stuff, but if you used 4.5 then the rest is all close enough so that its not unfamiliar
