Upon analyzing an index, the blks_gets_per_access (index_stats)
is high. In rebuilding the index the following happens:
The resulting extents are not the rght size. IM instead of
the 10M specified for initial extent size.
I am left with 3-4 extents instead of 1. Also the blks_gets_per_access is not reduced much at all (after reanalyzing the index of-course).
Whats hapenning?
