    Hello,

How can I view in Oracle 7 whether I have autoextend on for a particular tablespace/datafile? I would have thought DBA_TABLESPACES or DBA_DATA_FILES would have given the status. I don't see it in storage manager either.

    Thanks.

Good reason for that - Autoextend is an Oracle 8+ feature :-)

Hmm, Oracle 7? In 8i, its the AUTOEXTENSIBLE column in dba_data_files.

In 7.3, you need to select from sys.filext$ and
    outer-join it to dba_data_files.

    OEM Storage manager would help.
Is it considered sacrilege to mention GUI tools in this forum?

I may be showing my complete ignorance about OEM, but does it manage 7.3 databases?

    Thanks for the help,

FILEXT$ appears to be what I was looking for. Does anyone know if the MAXEXTEND column is the maxsize in bytes?... or is it kb's?

    Thanks again.
