Hi all,
Oracle8.06.1/NT4.0-sp6.
There was a lock when 1 process by ERP and lock won't go away. I killed the session and re-ran the process, lock was back, then I killed/re-ran and lock kept coming back. This lock was on a master table and lock all the subsequence process- basically process just hang.
I killed the session and ran analyze table validate structure and since then LOCK never came back. Does that mean I have a table corruption yesterday? How to avoid table/index corrution in the future?
Thank you

Not necessarily. Your process may have been rolling back a transaction when you tried to kill it. Your process may be smart enough to know when it has died and restart itself. Kind of hard to say...
