    Dear Moderators/Members
    I am having the following error try to connect to server manager on Tru64 unix running 8.1.7.1B

    $ svrmgrl

    Oracle Server Manager Release 3.1.7.0.0 - Production

    ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

    Any ideas????

    Check you have correctly set the


    SHMMAX 2139095040 (2GB-8MB)
    . If not reset that bounce your server, and then try reconnecting.

    Must this parameter be absolutely set to a minimum of 2G for server manager and SQLPLUS to function??

    If you read the doc, you can notice that it doesn't get used to the fullest extent. For some reason, I beleive that oracle checks this parameters to make suer that you provide min 2GB of memory capable system. That is kind of FUZZY to me
