Is there any metadata table(s)/views(s) that would tell you the number of time a table or object has been accessed?

Any suggestions or ideas if there is no metadata table...

I think this is what the MONITORING feature is used for. See http://technet.oracle.com/docs/produ...2a.htm#2056158 for details.

    Anybody ever used monitoring?

Also, there is a script called catio.sql in your $OH/rdbms/admin directory that can help you with this also.

    catio

    Hi there.
    funnily enough, I jusy used catio.sql ...

Be wary of the results that script gives you. The way it gets the stats is a little ropey to say the least. What oracl esay is that you can rely on the ranking of the tables (IE which get hit the most) but you cant rely on the numbers being accurate. Also the scripts are BUGGED big time. I have fixed and used the v7 script and cn send you a copy if you like. I havent gotten around to fixing the v8 version yet...

Could you please email me the scripts (v7 scripts
that you have fixed) to "nannep@yahoo.com"

I am assuming that they would work on Oracle 8i.

    Thanks in advance.
