    Unhappy

    Hey Guys,

Getting ora-3113 when attempting to create a
    database when executing startup nomount.

The glic213 patch has been applied and have relinked oracle executables, reexecuted root.sh, listener is working, tnsping short and full name. alert log just stops at init.ora listing, no errors there. there are core dump directories in .../dbs.

I also have reduced init.ora processes, db buffer, shared pool, etc.

    any light would help.

Could you post some sort of detailed explanation of how to:

    -prepare linux for Oracle
    -install Oracle

including versions, where you got patches, etc.

    Thanks!
