    Dear Moderators and Members

Can someone please explain to me what is meant by - a database refresh??? Does that mean dropping old data and then importing data from an up-to-date database?

Secondly, what are the proper steps to take during a database refresh???

    Thanks in advance!

There's a really good paper at http://www.appsdba.com that tells how to refresh (clone) a database. It's under the "Papers and Presentations" section. The end of the paper is specific to Oracle Applications, but the database procedures work for any database. I've used this several times with great success using the online db backup method. Just make sure you have all of the necessary archive logs if you've taken an online backup.

    Good luck!
