Thread: back to 8.1.6

    hi all ...

    OS : HP UX 11

    I got a database which was recently upgraded to 8.1.7
    i am not the one who did the upgrade but i think all was done in the right way ...

    My problem is : they want to go back to 8.1.6
    8.1.6 install is not a problem but i don t want to recreate the database and do export/import because it is a very big database ...

    so how can i do ? if i only change ORACLE_HOME ? will it be OK ?

    no, changing ORACLE_HOME should not solve your problem. take Oracle documentation, in book Oracle 8i Migration, there is a section about downgrading ...
